New construction, additions, or demolition of structures

Electrical, gas, mechanical, and plumbing system installations or alterations

Projects disturbing 1 acre or more must apply for a grading permit through
TDEC – Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation

Temporary Use Structures

All temporary structures (residences, jobsite offices, RVs, etc.) must be approved by the the city of Three Way and Building Commissioner prior to placement.

 

Homeowner Permits

Homeowners may qualify to obtain permits for work on their primary residence.

Plan Requirements

Plan submittals must include:

Site layout and topography (include TDEC Notice of Coverage, if applicable)

Architectural, structural, and life safety plans

Electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and gas layouts

Septic or well approval from the Madison County Health Department

Requesting Inspections

Inspections must be scheduled by the permit holder or an authorized representative.
